Read the article from top to bottom. I didn't get it, it came across as a series of disconected areas. It also came across as a typical orientalist viewpoint, especially when it came to criticism of cageprisoner.
But mostly anarchism and islam are related in that authority is disliked because it is inherantly corrupt. If authority was just then both anarchists and anarchist muslims would have no problem.
In islam justice lies in the shariah. And not state controlled shariah, but shariah expressed as a body of opinon by independent highly trained jurists. Not a state controlled reference manual.
And yes anarchists are against property ownership, but only because it enriches a few and enslaves many. Islamic ideas of property are far more social than capatilst views, with zakat tax , good of the community etc.
Things such as no borders, no heirarchy are all common concepts.
Read N Feildmans discussion on islamism (state controlled shariah) compared to its traditional role.
and the jstor article on islam and anarchism

Thank you for providing a very interesting interview with Andrew Linklater. I am a graduate student of Master of International Relations at Macquarie University and was researching on Linklater's concept of emancipation when I came across this. After reading some of his published works, this interview has provided much appreciated insight and answers regarding his thoughts and the history of his work.

Warm Regards
